About the book

Anna Rose Gaytan, an American bangya (band girl) of Filipino and Mexican descent, has been a die hard fan of Naoki Umeda, the guitarist for the Japanese Visual Kei band, Beast O’Blood since she was 17. The Beaverton, Oregon native has even imagined marrying him in her fantasy.

After her boss gets the shingles, Anna Rose is sent to Tokyo as the last minute replacement where she unexpectedly meets Naoki Umeda at a book store in Shibuya after falling on him during a vertigo spell. They spend a lovely day together all the while Naoki tries to hide that he just got diagnosed with cancer, one of his dark secrets.
